As of 2023, renewable sources account for 8.1% of Mongolia's total energy production, showcasing the country's untapped potential in wind, geothermal, hydro, and solar energy, estimated at approximately 2,500 GW.

Advisory meeting on “ the Article VI of the Paris Agreement and carbon evaluation mechanism”

The OLOLT Center, in collaboration with the Office of the President, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and the Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation Center of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, organized a consultation meeting on "CHAPTER 6 OF THE PARIS AGREEMENT AND CARBON EVALUATION MECHANISM" on May 24-25, 2023. The objective of this meeting was to disseminate knowledge and insights regarding economic instruments such as carbon market pricing and international trading of carbon reduction credits to Mongolian government bodies, aiming to bolster efforts in aligning with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
